CHALLENGE: : Turnaround marketing, business development, and logistics capability of McLane, the largest U.S. convenience store channel distributor, acquired by Wal-Mart to supply grocery selections for the Wal-Mart Supercenter beta store format -- mass and grocery products.
Hand-selected by National Vice-President to rebuild P&G’s customer relationship and offerings with McLane, the only business to go to every U.S. zip code weekly except the U.S. Post Office, in order to support Wal-Mart’s strategic new format beta test—The Wal-Mart Supercenter. Create a ‘mini-Wal-mart’ multi-functional team for seamless category management planning and logistics process.

  • Massive Trend Reversal. Reversed 5-years of double digit performance to achieve three consecutive years of triple digit indices including 131% improvement during initial year, and sustained 2 consecutive years of growth at 126% and 115%, respectively.
  • Business Re-engineering Initiative. In addition to validating the large size delivery systems for the Wal-Mart Supercenter, new  strategic business re-engineering partnership was formed to build product marketing plans, developing new product packaging for the convenience industry & simplification strategies; mirror multi-functional business development teams for the largest U.S. convenience chains.
